Systems
Announces Upcoming Speaking Engagement at
Microsoft’s Worldwide
Public Safety Symposium
Midlothian, VA - March 17, 2011 -
Forensic Advantage Systems, the global provider of laboratory
information management systems will present industry case study
to public safety and national security meeting attendees.
David Romig II president of Forensic
Advantage Systems will present a client case study on crime
laboratory backlog reduction through process automation at
Microsoft’s Worldwide Public Safety Symposium which will be held
March 22-24, 2011 at the Microsoft Conference Center in Redmond,
Washington. The presentation will be delivered on Wednesday,
March 23, 2011 from 1:00PM-1:30PM. The session will provide
detailed information on the best practice methodologies and
processes used for comparing and measuring the value of
automating laboratory operations as compared to paper-based and
other traditional methods.
The focus of the study is designed to present practical guidance
and tools used to analyze the benefits of understanding the
throughput of case loads, reduction of operational costs,
increased visibility across lab disciplines and improved
reporting capabilities. The quantitative values defined in the
research culminate in the overarching goal of collecting
accurate statistical data that can be applied to effective
operational management as well as grants and other funding
opportunities. Based largely on a case study from North
Carolina’s State Bureau of Investigation the specific
information includes the decision process, criteria setting,
technology selection, implementation issues, and the effects
upon the lab’s metrics. The data also highlights the importance
of human innovation as it relates to system selection and use,
ensuring data security, accuracy, and the engagement of all lab
members, management and staff, who need to be aware of the
critical issues that lead to making informed decisions from real
time data. Key topics include:
•
Initial Reasons for
Automation
•
Definition of Metrics
•
Goal Setting
•
Lower Pending Cases
(Backlog)
•
Paper Elimination
•
Calculation of Metrics
- Cost per Case
•
