» Project Manager
Responsibilities
Forensic Advantage® Systems is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Implementation Manager who will be responsible for overall program management and project implementation, remote and on-site. Monitor project to ensure design and delivery activities are on schedule, within budget and conducted in compliance with RFP contract and corporate policies and procedures.
• Review RFP and supporting documents and perform gap analysis to understand project and potential problems.
• Work with project team to prepare detailed project schedule.
• Ensure timely execution of implementation tasks.
• Oversees and direct the project and communicate directly with all project staff, consultants and clients.
• Prepare project status reports, and work to ensure software deliveries are complete and that RFP specifications are met.
• Provide leadership and mentoring in the professional and career development of subordinates.
• Develop relationships with Clients for their repeat business.
The Project Manager will need to have good foresight and analytical ability, and needs to understand the software arena, preferably Crime Lab and/or Medical Examiner markets. The selected individual will help the delivery teams organize to properly structure and, more importantly, deliver a successful project. This includes:
1. Managing multiple projects and people simultaneously
2. Generating detailed project plans using industry standard tools (ie., MS Project, Microsoft Office, VISIO, etc.) to ensure milestones are achieved
3. Overall responsibility for all PM deliverables that support projects and programs (including management of scope, quality, resources, schedule, etc.)
4. Possessing an understanding of the SDLC methodology; Agile or others a bonus
5. Being organized and structured. We believe that an organized engagement centers around an organized example set from Project Management

 

Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor of Science (BA/BS) degree in related field
• Must be an excellent communicator, both written and oral
• Ensure superior customer management through consistent updates, responsive follow-through, and attention to detail
• Must possess leadership qualities and skills that motivate project team members to drive the project to a successful conclusion
• 3-5 years of industry and/or consulting experience
• Document future product needs and work with product management to facilitate enhancements if needed
• Review, testing and creation of content for product stack
• Creation of satisfied customer deployment reference documents
• Direct interaction with product development group on behalf of external organizations and customers
• Ability to handle and solve technical issues of any degree of complexity with little or no need for supervision or assistance

» Associate LIMS Support Specialists

Responsibilities

The LIMS Support Specialist will be trained to build, update, and test new products for the Forensic Advantage® (FA) LIMS Platform. In addition, this individual will be trained to develop in the platform’s core and associated line of companion products. The individual will be responsible for investigating and responding to requests related to assisting end users with LIMS application issues. The Specialist will provide general helpdesk response for client care tickets, identify causes, communicate with customers and work with clients as well as request services within the division to understand and resolve all reported and assigned issues.

 

Requirements

Education: BS/BA in Computer Science or related preferred field preferred.

Experience: Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in working with computers. Experience working with similar lab environments would be a plus.

 

The LIMS Support Specialist must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, and be motivated to develop an in-depth knowledge of the FA LIMS application at all levels. This individual must be a strong team player and be able to seek direction or act independently as the situation demands. This individual needs to have both verbal and written skills.

  • Must have a positive and outgoing attitude and a desire to work with people.

  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and applications.

  • Have solid knowledge of .NET, operating systems (XP, Windows 7), application installations and SQL.

  • Must be organized, detail oriented, and possess the ability to logically investigate and determine the cause(s) of reported issues as well as how to resolve the identified issues.

  • Any knowledge of programming and application development and direct experience with LIMS environments and/or products would be a plus.

» Application Developers

Responsibilities

.Net developer with at least 6 years application development experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing major components of a proprietary LIMS system from written functional, technical and database specifications. Commercial product development experience with understanding of laboratory information management systems is a plus but not a requirement. We are looking for a Developer that will work closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. The Developer shall participate in the full systems life cycle with solution design, development, implementation, and production support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-directed, and a quick-learner with the ability to work within a small team of developers in a fast-paced environment.

 

Requirements

Education: BS/MS in Computer Science or similar engineering discipline including software engineering is desired.

  • Demonstrated experience with application architecture in the .Net technologies

  • .Net Framework software development in C#

  • Familiarity with Test Driven Development

  • Software testing methodologies including the creation of automated test development utilities

  • Experience with Developer Express UI Components is preferred but not required

  • MS SQL Server experience

  • Working Knowledge of IIS in a Windows environment

  • Experience with Source Control

  • Good refactoring skills while building unit tests to ensure continuity

  • Implementing software to internal standards and making changes as identified by code reviews

  • Provide technical guidelines on complex projects

  • Proficiency in C#, WPF, WCF, and SQL Server required

  • Experience in system analysis, design, coding and testing

  • Handle change requests and provide quick and efficient solutions

  • Analyze business requirements and transform them into technical design

  • Implement the design to develop and test the functional requirements

  • Source code maintenance

  • Administer development and production environments
